For those interested, here are some of things that stick out to me after about 10 hours of play.
1 - The graphics are superb. It looks better than the PC version with the high resolution texture packs. The god rays, enhanced trees and vegetation, ambient fog and rain make Skyrim an even more beautiful place to inhabit. It really is a stunningly beautiful world.
2 - Enhanced ambient audio. The world really comes alive, especially at night, with the additional sound effects like wind and insects.
3 - The character models are still pretty bad. It's neither here nor there, but with all the time they spent on the world, some better-looking NPCs would have been nice.
4 - The skybox is gorgeous, both during day and night.
5 - The load times are greatly improved. PS3 load times were unbearable. PS4 load times are comparable with PC - almost instantaneous.
The gameplay is essentially unchanged. Armed combat is still a bit clunky. NPCs still do wacky things (though admittedly this is part of the charm). Followers still get lost and still block the only door when you're trying to get out of a dungeon.
In short, it's the same game with a new coat of paint, but it's a great coat of paint. It would have been great, I think, to add some new things to this "Enhanced Edition" - maybe some new spells, a new quest line or side story...something. It's a bummer there's no real new content, but it is what it is.
If you've never experienced Skyrim before, this is the edition to get. So buy it, place a large stack of food next to your couch, relax and enjoy this wonderful world.
***UPDATE*** I'm now about 40 hours into and I've experienced one busted quest, and it's an important one. The Forbidden Legend quest, which is notoriously bugged going back to the original, is bugged here. I've collected all the parts of the Gauldur Amulet, but it didn't trigger the remainder of the quest. The Gauldur Amulet is an important and effective piece of apparel to improve your magicka, health and stamina. I cannot forge it. Disappointing.
***UPDATE 11/8*** 60+ hours in and I haven't even started the Dawnguard DLC, the Dark Brotherhood, or Civil War quests. Still haven't sided with Imperials or Stormcloaks. Haven't worked on the Blades quest. Only done two Thieves Guild Quests and only discovered about 40% of the map. Outside of the one busted quest, no other issues. It's still gorgeous and beautiful, and most importantly, FUN!
**UPDATE 11/10** - I've experienced two crashes. Frustrating, but it happens. I'm also experiencing occasional audio drop outs in mountainous areas like Dawnstar and the Aldmeri Domain. Very weird.
**UPDATE 11/17** - This will be my last update. A few days ago I started having serious problems with the game. It was crashing about every 10 minutes. It didn't start happening until I hit level 30 and seemed to coincide with the Boethia's Calling quest (which never worked for me on the PS3 or PC version). I was about to come and reduce the number of stars I gave the game, but the recent patch 1.04 seems to have cleared up the problem. I played for a few hours last night without any issues. So, my friends, keep enjoying the game and remember: Skyrim belongs to the Nords!
There are a few caveats. For one thing, it is shocking how dated this game feels now, especially compared to Fallout 4. For one thing, the character creation system is quite limited by modern standards, and offers a fraction of the options available in Elder Scrolls Online. Also, little things like my character not turning his or her head to look at people when they are talking are very noticeable compared to modern RPGs. However, once I gave myself a couple weeks to adjust the game, I have had no problems with these things, especially in relation to the many great improvements Bethesda has made.
The biggest plus for me with this version is the shortened loading times. It is absolute bliss to walk through a door and not be forced to watch the smoke rise. Basic transitions in towns and dungeons happen in a few seconds or less, and even traveling to different parts of the map usually takes no more than 8-10 seconds. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised at the improved framerate, which puts the old console versions to shame. As for the graphics, the lighting effects are the most noticeably improved. Colors are warmer and softer in the daytime, and there is now greater clarity and depth at night. Overall, there is a better sense of space and atmosphere throughout, and the game is significantly more handsome than it used to be. This is further aided by highly refined textures as well as new additions to the environment like rocks and leaves on the ground, abundant shrubbery, and thicker foliage on the tress. The mountains also feature vastly improved textures and detail. Skyrim was always pretty, but it is a joy to explore these refined environments now.
It's worth mentioning that I picked up the disc copy of this on release day, began playing immediately, and still have not encountered a single crash or game-breaking bug. Like the rest of the game, this area has also been improved, and there seems to be fewer glitches and oddities than there were on the original. I'm sure they still exist, but I have not found any serious ones.
If you loved Skyrim the first time, chances are good you will love it all over again. The many tweaks and improvements are enough to get me excited about another trip into my favorite game world, and even the dated graphics and mechanics can't diminish the greatness of this game. Personally, I think it's worth every penny.

My life is pretty boring, but I never want to go back to it again once I experience the epic adventures in Skyrim. If you're into RPG's and you own a PS4, get this game, you will be all set. The world of Skyrim is breathtaking, simply amazing and even more so with the HD remaster. My favorite part about Skyrim is how much freedom the player has. You can truly decide your destiny in this game. Whether to be good or bad, what skills to excel at, whether to side with other alliances or be a lone wolf. Skyrim is an incredible game that everybody should at least play once. The epic adventures await.
